As the conflict in the Middle East continues, Sweden has announced on Monday that operations there to evacuate its citizens from Lebanon have tailed off, but work was ongoing to help those still in the country.
According to the Swedish foreign ministry, the aim is "to keep evacuating people as long as there is a need."
Swedish staff will remain in Beirut as long as the "security situation permits", the ministry said.
The ministry also said that "as many as a couple of hundred Swedes" were still trapped in southern areas and that it was looking into ways to help them.
Some 7,000 Swedes have been evacuated from the region, mostly to the island of Cyprus.
over 230 Swedes arrived safely in Turkey Monday after being evacuated from Lebanon, according to the ministry.
