Lebanese Hezbollah guerillas fired at least 16 rockets at the northern Israeli city of Haifa on Tuesday, leaving seven people injured.

Medical rescuers rushed to the scene and took the wounded to Rambam Hospital in the city.

Hezbollah also fired rockets at other northern Israeli cities and communities, including Safed, Nahariya, Carmiel. No casualty was reported in the attacks.

However, power outages have been reported in a number of centers in Nahariya after a number of high voltage power lines in the area ceased to work following rocket attacks.

Efforts were underway to return electricity to the area. Eight people were wounded Monday afternoon in a barrage of rockets fired by Hezbollah at cities and towns across northern Israel.

On Sunday, two people were killed by rocket attacks in Haifa.
