A total of 6,575 foreign evacuees and 1,322 Turkish citizens from Lebanon due to the ongoing attacks of Israel have arrived in Turkey so far, the Turkish Foreign Ministry of Affairs said on Tuesday.

The ministry said in a written statement that Turkey has taken action to provide necessary assistance and support to evacuate citizens of all friendly and ally countries in Lebanon within the framework of recent developments in the country.

Foreign citizens from Sweden, Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Germany, Canada, the United States, Australia, Lebanon and other third countries entered to Turkey so far, the ministry said.

The statement said that the Israeli officials were also asked to give information to Turkey before any military operation was launched on the route in question.

"Israeli party has not launched any military activity in the route in question so far as a result of our initiatives," the statement said.

Pertaining to the evacuation of foreign citizens in Lebanon via Turkey, the MFA worked in cooperation with the representations of related countries, the statement said.

The ministry also emphasized that Turkey would continue to make any contribution to overcome the problems related to the crisis in Lebanon with the least damage.
