A total of 6,575 foreign evacuees and 1,322 Turkish citizens from Lebanon
due to the ongoing attacks of Israel have arrived in Turkey so far, the Turkish
Foreign Ministry of Affairs said on Tuesday.
The ministry said in a written statement that Turkey has taken action to
provide necessary assistance and support to evacuate citizens of all friendly
and ally countries in Lebanon within the framework of recent developments in the
country.
Foreign citizens from Sweden, Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Germany, Canada, the
United States, Australia, Lebanon and other third countries entered to Turkey so
far, the ministry said.
The statement said that the Israeli officials were also asked to give
information to Turkey before any military operation was launched on the route in
question.
"Israeli party has not launched any military activity in the route in
question so far as a result of our initiatives," the statement said.
Pertaining to the evacuation of foreign citizens in Lebanon via Turkey, the
MFA worked in cooperation with the representations of related countries, the
statement said.
The ministry also emphasized that Turkey would continue to make any
contribution to overcome the problems related to the crisis in Lebanon with the
least damage.
