Foreign ministers from 15 Western and Arab countries started a one-day
conference here Wednesday to tackle violence in the Middle East that shows no
signs of abating.
The conference, co-chaired by Italy and the United States, seeks to carve out
a cease-fire between Israel and Lebanon-based Hezbollah. But participants are
obviously divided over how and when a cease-fire should take
place.
