Israeli warplanes pounded a road near a Lebanese customs post in south
Lebanon on Saturday, local TV reported.
The road, linking border towns of Al Masnaa and Jdeidet Yabus, has been
destroyed in the Israeli air raid, Future TV reported.
The highway, about 1 km from the border with Syria, is also a main road to
the Syrian capital Damascus. Traffic in both directions had been stopped.
The report said that the Syrian-Lebanese border crossing at AlMasnaa had been
closed after the Israeli airstrike.
It was the first time that the crossing was shut down since violence between
Israel and Lebanon's Hezbollah guerillas broke out on July 12.
There was no immediate report of any casualties.
