Syrian Information Minister Mohsen Bilal accused Israel of carrying out "massacre" in the northeastern Lebanese village of al-Qaa where at least 30 Syrians were killed, the official SANA news agency reported on Saturday.

Terming the carnage as "an fascist act being carried out by U.S.-made weapons", Bilal said the Israeli aggression "posed a danger in the region and the world as a whole".

"The Israeli aggression hasn't yet achieved any winnings but has slain defenseless children, women and the aged. This unjustified act contradicts moral and religious principles," he said.

On Friday, the Israeli warplanes pounded the village of al-Qaa, which is close to Lebanon's border with Syria, killing at least 30 Syrian farm workers and wounding over a dozen others.

Bilal also accused the United States of delaying UN Security Council sessions, saying the super power "is to give Israel the longest possible opportunity to achieve changes on the land".

"There is no way for stability in the region ... until Israel's complete pullout from the occupied Arab territories," Bilal noted.

Israel has expanded massive assault against Lebanon's Shiite group Hezbollah and killed hundreds of civilians since the violence erupted on July 12 in the wake of the abduction of two Israeli soldiers by Hezbollah guerrillas in a cross-border raid.
