Hundreds of women and children marched in the Pakistani capital Islamabad on
Saturday to condemn Israeli military operation and express support for the
people of Lebanon and Palestine.
Organized by Imamia Students Organization (ISO) (women wing), Muslim
Resistance Movement and several other organizations, the demonstration is the
biggest since the Israeli attack on Lebanon beginning last month.
Despite heavy rains, a large number of veiled women and children took part in
the rally.
The rally adopted a resolution, urging the United Nations to ensure
medicines, food and water supply to the displaced people. Condemning Israeli
attacks, the resolution urged the world body to declare Israel as a terrorist
state.
Women speakers told the rally that Israel has committed terrorism while
killing innocent people in the city of Qana.
An ISO leader Khanum Tayyeba said that Israel soldiers have killed innocent
women and children but the western nations are silent over this heinous crime.
