Two Jordanian planes carrying humanitarian aid provided by the Chinese
government left for the Lebanese capital Beirut on Saturday.
It was the second batch of aid sent by China to Lebanon via Jordan.
On Friday, about 150 tons of humanitarian aid including foodstuff, medicine,
tents and electricity generators donated by China were transported to Lebanon by
Jordanian planes.
Meanwhile, Chinese Ambassador to Jordan Luo Xingwu reiterated on Saturday
China's call for an immediate ceasefire in Lebanon and the establishment of a
just peace in the Middle East.
Violence erupted in Lebanon on July 12 when Hezbollah guerillas kidnapped two
Israeli soldiers and killed eight during cross-border raids.
Lebanon said over 900 Lebanese were killed and 3,000 wounded in the violence.
Over 70 Israeli have also been killed in the 25 days of fighting.
