Three Israel Defense Forces (IDF) soldiers were killed and four others
wounded in fierce fighting with Hezbollah militants in the southern Lebanese
town of Bint Jbeil yesterday, local newspaper Ha'aretz reported.
Two soldiers were killed Monday afternoon by an anti-tank missile and a third
was killed in the morning fighting.
Bint Jbeil, about four kilometers north of the border with Israel and a
Hezbollah stronghold, has witnessed fierce fightings between Israeli troops and
Hezbollah guerillas.
The deaths brought to 61 the number of Israeli soldiers killed since the
capture of two soldiers in a deadly Hezbollah raid on July 12 that triggered the
offensive on Lebanon.
