The Israel Air Force shot down an unmanned Hezbollah aircraft over Israeli
water near the coast of the northern port city Haifa Monday night, local media
reported.
"The airforce destroyed a Hezbollah drone," a spokesman from the Israeli
Defense Forces confirmed to Xinhua.
It was still unclear where the drone was flying and whether itwas armed or
not.
The Navy retrieved parts of the drone from the water.
In November 2004, Hezbollah sent its first ever drone, named "Mirsad 1" over
Israel, where it flew around for some 20 minutes while filming.
Israel makes frequent use of drones over the battlefield to give it real time
intelligence during fighting.
