Israeli troops demolished the headquarters of Hezbollah in southwestern
Lebanon on Monday morning, local newspaper The Jerusalem Post reported on its
website.
Israeli combat engineers and infantry troops discovered several rocket
launchers in the Hezbollah headquarters before demolishing it by explosives,
said the report.
Earlier, the Israeli army said that an Israeli soldier was killed and four
others were lightly wounded in clashes in the southern Lebanese village of Bint
Jbeil on Monday. At least five Hezbollah fighters were also killed in the
confrontation.
Israeli warplanes pounded across Lebanon on Monday, killing 14 Lebanese
civilians.
Senior Israeli army officers said that the army was considering stepping up
operations in Lebanon after deadly Hezbollah rocket attacks killed 15 Israelis
in northern Israel on Sunday.
