Eleven Lebanese civilians were killed and 24 others wounded in an Israeli
airstrike on the southern Lebanese village of Ghaziyeh yesterday, the pan-Arab
al-Jazeera satellite TV channel reported.
Missiles fired by Israeli military planes hit a building in the Shiite
village when residents were holding a funeral procession for 15 people killed in
an Israeli strike on Monday, said the report.
No further details were revealed.
Lebanon said that four weeks of fighting had left over 1,000 Lebanese dead
and displaced up to one million.
The violence was touched off by the kidnapping of two Israeli soldiers by
Lebanon's Hezbollah guerillas during cross-border raid on July
12.
