Israeli army confirmed Friday that one more Israeli soldier was killed on
Thursday night during the fighting with Lebanon's Hezbollah guerilla in southern
Lebanon.
The soldier was killed in the fighting in Lebuna, a southern Lebanese town
near the western part of the Israeli-Lebanese border, said an army spokesman.
A total of two Israeli soldiers were killed on Thursday as a soldier was
killed earlier in the day in southern Lebanese town of Klia, he said.
Both of the soldiers killed are reservists, said the spokesman. Israeli army
said earlier on Thursday that one Israeli soldier was killed and two others were
wounded by an anti-tank missile fired by Hezbollah guerillas in southern
Lebanon.
The casualties were caused in the Lebanese village of Klia in the eastern
sector of southern Lebanon when Hezbollah guerrillas fired the anti-tank missile
at an Israeli tank on Thursday morning, the army said.
A total of 15 Israeli soldiers were killed in fierce fighting with Hezbollah
fighters in southern Lebanon on Wednesday, the deadliest single day for the
Israeli army since the eruption of the Israel-Hezbollah violence on July 12.
Over 120 Israelis and about 1,000 Lebanese have been killed in the 30 days of
fighting.
Since the Israeli-Lebanese conflict started on July 12, some 84 Israeli
soldiers and 40 civilians have been killed in the month-long crisis.
