The Thai Foreign Ministry Sunday welcomed a UN resolution calling for an end
to the month-old bloodshed between Israel and Lebanon.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Kit Wasinon said it was good that the UN Security
Council finally adopted the resolution.
The UN Security Council on Friday unanimously adopted the resolution after
days of diplomatic wrangling.
Resolution 1701 calls for an end to the bloodshed between Israel and
Hezbollah, the deployment of a 15,000-strong international peacekeeping force
and subsequently an Israeli troop withdrawal from southern Lebanon.
