Indonesia hailed the UN Security Council's decision to adopt a resolution
to end hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah, Vice President Jusuf Kalla said
hereon Saturday.
He said that Indonesia had already expressed its readiness to participate in
the UN peacekeeping force in Lebanon if requested to and had even prepared a
battalion for it.
Indonesia had taken part in UN peacekeeping efforts several times such as in
Egypt, Congo, Bosnia and Cambodia, he said.
"Indonesia's experience in participating in international forces is
extraordinary and Indonesia might possibly even be the first Association of
Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) country taking part in such effort," Antara news
agency quoted Kala as saying.
