A second Hezbollah guerrilla was killed in Lebanon by Israeli forces Monday
afternoon after a UN-brokered ceasefire went into effect in the morning, the
Israeli army said.
The man was shot when he attempted to approach Israeli troops near the
village of Ghanduriya, the army said without giving other details.
Earlier in the day, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed that it shot
dead a Hezbollah militant in the central part of south Lebanon, the first such
one following ceasefire in Lebanon.
An IDF spokeswoman told Xinhua that Israeli soldiers opened fire at the
militant and killed him when the man was approaching to their post.
The UN-brokered Israel-Lebanon cease-fire took into force at 8:00 a.m. (0500
GMT) on Monday morning following both Israeli and Lebanese approval.
