Israeli drone and warplanes launched air strikes on eastern Lebanon areas
near Hezbollah stronghold of Baalbek, the major city in the Bekaa Valley on
Friday night, police sources said.
Some four missiles were fired from the Israeli military helicopters and
drones which flew at low altitude 22 kilometers northeast of the Bekaa Valley,
the Voice of Lebanon radio quoted the sources as saying.
According to some media reports, unidentified guns were then fired at the
aircraft.
But other media reports said that Lebanese security officials had not
reported any bomb or missile strikes, adding they could not immediately confirm
the strikes.
