Three Hezbollah guerillas were killed by Israeli troops in eastern Lebanon on
Saturday, the pan-Arab al-Jazeera satellite channel reported.
The Hezbollah guerillas were killed in clashes with Israeli commandos
airlifted to eastern Lebanon early on Saturday, al-Jazeera reported, citing
Lebanese security sources.
Earlier, Lebanese security sources said that the Israeli army carried out an
air-borne raid on a Hezbollah stronghold in eastern Lebanon.
Meanwhile, Hezbollah's al-Manar television reported that Hezbollah fighters
clashed with Israeli commandos near the Bodai village in eastern Lebanon.
Some casualties were caused on the Israeli side, the report added.
There was no immediate comment from the Israeli army.
The raid came as a ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah came into effect on
Monday under a UN Security Council resolution.
The truce ended the 34-day-long conflict which was triggered by the capture
of two Israeli soldiers by Hezbollah during cross-border raids on July 12.
