A team nuclear experts from three countries yesterday returned to Pyongyang
from Yongbyon after a two-day visit to the nuclear facilities of the Democratic
People's Republic of Korea (DPRK).
"During the visit, we examined four nuclear facilities including a 5MW
reactor and a reprocessing facility," said one of the experts on condition of
anonymity.
"The DPRK side is being cooperative," he said, "They gave satisfying answers
to the questions raised by the experts."
The team is expected to have an in-depth discussion with the DPRK on the
measures required to disable nuclear facilities at Yongbyon today.
The experts visited the country at Pyongyang's invitation, which was
described as a "significant step toward denuclearization of the Korean
Peninsula" by US Assistant Secretary of State Christopher Hill last week.
The team, led by a US State Department official, includes seven experts from
the United States, one from China and one from Russia.
The team is scheduled to leave Pyongyang tomorrow.
