A 244-strong South Korean contingent, led by Vice President of the (South)
Korean Olympic Committee (KOC) Chung Hyon-suk, left for Doha, Qatar, on Tuesday
to take part in the upcoming 15th Asian Games.
Athletes from the judo, weightlifting, bowling, handball, men's hockey,
boxing and basketball teams are on the flight, said officials from the (South)
Korea Olympic Committee (KOC).
Squad members for other events including cycling, table tennis, football,
yachting and shooting have already arrived in Doha to prepare for the
quadrennial event.
South Korea plans to send a total of 750 athletes to compete in 37 events to
the 15th Asian Games. The KOC said South Korea's target for the Asian Games is
to take back about 75 gold medals.
The 15th Asian Games is set to be launched on Friday.
