The Chinese delegation is satisfied with the small capacity of the courts at
the Doha Asian Games, an official said here on Tuesday.
"The table tennis and badminton competition courts here can accommodate only
500 and 1,000 audiences respectively," Cui Dalin, the deputy chef de mission of
the Chinese delegation, told reporters in the Athletes' Village.
"The courts were too small from the point of the Chinese, but both table
tennis and badminton teams felt satisfied with them, which are new and
well-equipped," said Cui.
China's badminton head coach Li Yongbo even said that they felt the small
court was good for playing.
The table tennis and fencing events at the Asian Games will show off in the
indoor hall of the Al-Arabi Sports Club, which has a capacity of 1,500
audiences.
The badminton competition is to be held along with track cycling, gymnastics,
kabaddi, wushu, wrestling and boxing in the Aspire Stadium, which offers a
seating capacity of 15,000 audience.
