South Korea's tennis ace Lee Hyung Taik may not play the men's team event at
the Asiad tennis tournament due to his defective fitness following a grueling
ATP season, said South Korea men's tennis coach Jeon Young Dai on Tuesday.
"During the last four months Lee has reached the top 50 on the world rankings
and he is very tired after the long season," said Jeon on Tuesday at the Khalifa
Tennis Courts.
"I am a little bit concerned about his condition and I am not yet sure if Lee
will play in the men's team event."
At the Busan games four years ago, Thai Paradorn Srichaphan beat the stubborn
South Korean to win the singles title.
In Doha, Lee and Srichaphan, Asia's current top two players, will most
probably meet again.
The Thai won both meetings against Lee in the ATP tour.
"We hope to win a gold medal in the men's team event and with Lee in the
men's singles," Jeon said.
