Turkmenistan plans to win 10 medals in the 15th Asian Games in Doha, an official of the Turkmenistan delegation told Xinhua here on Tuesday.

According to the official, the medal hopefuls mainly come from boxing, swimming, wrestling as well as judo.

Comprising 50 athletes and 20 officials, the Central Asian delegation is to compete in 40 events.

However, Turkmenistan had announced earlier last week to withdraw from the soccer tournament of 15th Asian Games without elaborating reasons.

Turkmenistan, with population of five million, won four medals and finished 25th on the medal tally at the Busan Asian Games.
