Iran's taekwondo team aimed at six medals in the 15th Asian Games by sending
six players in Doha, said an official in the delegation.
Asghar Rahimi, Iran's deputy chef de mission, said that every player in the
team had a chance to win a medal.
"With better luck in the draws here, I believe six medals are a possibility
though I will not dare to dream of six golds," he saidin the Athletes' Village.
At the 14th Asian Games, Iran's team of six taekwondo players won three
medals. But Rahimi said, the players got a bad draw.
According to Rahimi, Iran's taekwondo team in Doha is headed by Olympic gold
medalist Hadi Sae. He believes each one of the six taekwondo athletes is a medal
prospect.
Taekwondo, a Korean martial art first introduced as a competitive event at
the Seoul Asian Games in 1986, will be held on December 7-10.
