Media fascinated by high-tech at Doha Asiad opening ceremony
2/12/2006 13:22

Reporters were stunned by the high technology introduced in the 15th Asian Games' opening ceremony last night.

"It was amazing, really impressive. And I was definitely interested in the technology in the ceremony. The light, the sound and the musical background, all fantastic," said Nguyen, a 27-year-old journalist from Vietnam TV at the ceremony.

The ceremony involved an extensive use of different visual elements, like PIGI projections, AV projections and imagery on the largest LED screen in the world. Sensitive as well as dramatic lighting merged these disparate elements into one picture. And the ceremony featured a broad range of lighting equipment, all of which are latest technology.

Nguyen said, "It was the light and modern technology that combined the story together. I think it is difficult to create such a good show anywhere. That's the reason why I sat here for three hours to watch the show."

"I think the ceremony was much better than the one at Athens Olympic Games, as it was much easier for me to understand. It was full of Asian style." he added.
