Japan beat Chinese Taipei 85-75 in Doha yesterday in the opening match of the second-round Group B competitions at the Doha Asian Games men's basketball tournament.
Trailing 42-41 at the half time, Japan outscored Chinese Taipei 23-13 in the third quarter to overtake at 64-55.
Chinese Taipei shot 4-for-19 from the field and 0-for-8 from beyond the arc in the third quarter when Chen Hsin An, who had 18 points in the first half, was held to nil point.
Chen finally found his touch again in the fourth quarter, making two three pointers in a row to pull Chinese Taipei within 77-69, but that's too late.
