3/12/2006 12:18

Fadi El Khatib scored 34 points to lead a Lebanese rout of Uzbekistan 106-70 at the Doha Asian Games men's basketball tournament in Doha yesterday.
With the amazing victory in the second-round Group B match, Lebanon showed it would be a strong title contender in this Asian Games.
The Asian runner-up, who beat Venezuela and France at the World Championship this fall, proved too much for Uzbekistan. Racing to an astonishing 17-0 start in the match, Lebanon improved to 67-28 at the half time and never looked back.
Joseph Vogel contributed 14 points for Lebanon.
Twelve teams are competing in the second round round-robins in two groups with top four finishers from each group qualifying for the quarter-finals.
Asian champion China will play Kazakhstan later on Saturday in another match of Group B.
