Chinese markswomen equaled a world record and claimed the title in the
women's 10m air pistol team event here at the 15th Asiad on Sunday.
The Chinese team, composed of Olympic champion Tao Luna, world champion Chen
Ying and Guo Wenjun, totaled 1,161 points, equaling the world mark set by Russia
in 1993.
"It's a great pity that we missed a new world record," said Wang Yifu, head
coach of the Chinese rifle and pistol team.
Guo, who was making her international debut, shot a nine in her blast shot
while veteran Chen shot several 9.9s.
The score surpassed the previous Asian record by five points, which was
created by China (Tao Luna, Ren Jie, Chen Ying) in Busan Asiad 2002.
India took the silver with 1,142 points, followed by South Korea with 1,140.
