It's a perfect ending for the Chinese table tennis teams, said a senior
official here after China collected both men's and women's team gold at the Doha
Asian Games on Sunday.
"We won both titles and have our young guns well tested here ahead of the
Beijing Olympic Games in 2008. It's perfect," said Liu
Fengyan, director of the table tennis and badminton administrative center of
China.
The table tennis boss sang high praises for Ma Lin, who was sent on court as
a second singles player at the Chinese men's 3-0 victory over South Korea,
beating Oh Sang Eun in full sets.
"Ma has proven himself a solid player while bearing the tough task in the
team event. He has grown up as a mature leader," said Liu.
Chinese head coach Liu Guoliang said: "Ma Lin played a perfect game and
showed his persistence, especially when facing difficulties."
"I think all my players have performed very well, especially in the final, as
South Korea have been on a high technical and tactical level," Liu added.
