Liu Haixia of China won gold medal convincingly in the women's 63kg
weightlifting, surpassing her nearest rival 30kg in the 15th Asian Games here on
Monday.

in the five-lifter competition as she took the lead both in
snatch and clean-and-jerk.
The 26-year-old Liu snatched 115kg and jerked 130kg for a winning total of
265kg, and Pan Yar Thet of Myanmar claimed the silver at 235kg while Kim Mi
Kyung of South Korea won the bronze at 223kg.
"There were some problems in the snatch in the past and I improved my skills
in summer. It does help this time," Liu said after the competition.
"I am determined to take the gold medal in Doha," she added.
"It was my second international competition and I am happy that I can win in
such a big event like the Asian Games," said Pan.
"I did not perform well in the snatch but I told myself to forget past in the
clean and jerk. That's why I won the bronze," said Kim.
