Chinese Taipei duo set up semifinal clash against Chinese women

Chinese Taipei's Huang Yi Hua and Lu Yun Feng made the first upset on the women's doubles of the Asian Games table tennis competitions, beating Hong Kong veterans Lau Sui Fei and Lin Ling 3-2 Tuesday in the quarter-finals.

The match went on 7-11, 11-4, 16-14, 6-11, 13-11 in favor of the Taipei duo, who never entered a semifinal phrase of the Asiad.

Huang and Lu will next face Guo Yue and Li Xiaoxia, who eased past Singapore's Li Jia Wei and Sun Bei Bei 11-6, 11-7, 11-4.

The other pair from Hong Kong, China, Tie Yana and Zhang Rui, ruled out a late comeback from Japanese duo Ai Fujinuma and Ai Fukuhara, winning 11-9, 6-11, 11-8, 9-11, 12-10 to earn their last four berth.

Tie and Zhang, both former Chinese players, take China's Wang Nan and Chen Qing in the semifinals after the Chinese pair won in straight sets over Kim Kyung Ah and Park Mi Young of South Korea, 11-7, 11-9, 11-7.
