China topped the judo gold medal list in Doha Asian Games after judoka Liu
Huanyuan grabbed the fifth judo gold medal in women's open category on the last
day's competitions on Tuesday.
"I did not perform well at first, but I quickly adjust myself and win the
contest," said Liu after the match, who defeated Dorjgotov Tserenkhand from
Mongolia in the final.
All of China's five gold medals were won in women's categories. Chinese judo
players also grabbed three bronze medals.
Japan and South Korea each won four gold medals while Mongolia snatched two
and DPR Korea got one. Japan ranked first in the total medals with three sliver
medals and nine bronze medals.
The results were a big disappointment for Japan, who grabbed eight judo gold
medals in 2004 Athens Olympic Games.
