6/12/2006 16:28

China's Ma Lin and Wang Nan won their semifinal clash against a pair of defensive players in Doha today to reach the mixed doubles final in the table tennis tournament of the 2006 Asian Games in Doha.

Ma and Wang took the patience-challenging match in straight sets, beating South Korea's Joo Sae Hyuk and Kim Kyung Ah 12-10, 11-7, 13-11, 11-7.

The other semifinal clash also went on eventlessly, as Lee JungWoo and Lee Eun Hee, also from South Korea, who beat China's Ma Long and Guo Yue in the quarters on Tuesday, beat Singapore's YangZi and Li Jia Wei 11-6, 11-8, 11-9, 11-4.

The final encounter will be played Thursday morning when Chinese paddlers try to restore their honor after the defeat in Busan four years ago, the only loss they suffered in the event at Asian Games.
