Chinese Jiang Ting claimed a silver medal at the Asian Games soft tennis
women's singles competition in Doha on Wednesday.
The 23-year-old Jiang managed to save one match point before losing to
Chinese Taipei's Chiang Wan Chi 4-2, 4-2, 4-1, 2-4 and 4-1 in 30 minutes.
Jiang, who made history for China by securing a silver in Asian Games soft
tennis competition, peformed an impressive giant-killing run by ousting Japanese
favorites Miwa Tsuji and Harumi Gyokusen in semifinals and quarterfinals
respectively.
In 2002 Busan Games, China pocketed one bronze in women's singles.
