Kim Ji Eun from South Korea has withdrawn from the soft tennis women's
singles bronze medal competition due to injury at the Asian Games.
The 24-year-old Kim, who came into Doha as one of the highest profile player
by winning the silver medal at last year's East Asian Games, injured her left
ankle during her 4-0 semifinal loss against Chinese Taipei's Chiang Wan Chi
early Wednesday morning.
The problem started on Tuesday in her quarterfinals, it hindered her
performance since the inception of the semifinal clash.
The women's singles final will take place between Chiang Wan Chi and China's
Jiang Ting, who continued her giant-killing run by ousting Japanese favorites
Miwa Tsuji and Harumi Gyokusen in semifinals and quarterfinals respectively.
