Kim Myong Hwa, a "mother" shooter from DPR Korea, won the first shooting gold
medal for her nation in the women's skeet event at the 15th Asian Games here on
Thursday.
Kim, 39, the mother of a child, tied with China's Olympic silver medalist Wei
Ning in the qualification round with 71 hits out of 75 targets. They still
equaled with each other after the 25-target final round both with a total of 93
hits. Kim edged out Weiin the shoot-off by 4-3.
China's newcomer Yu Xiumin finished third with a total of 92 hits and outshot
Sutiya Jiewchaloemmit from Thailand by 4-3 in the shoot-off.
