Japan garnered the gold medal in the men's four of the rowing competition at
the Doha Asian Games here on Thursday.
Leading from the very beginning, Japan took the gold, its second rowing title
in Doha, in three minutes and 04.48 seconds, more than four seconds faster than
second-placed India in 3:08.98.
Indonesia took the bronze medal in 3:09.83, edging China into fourth place in
3:09.98.
China won the event at the Asian Games in 1990, 1994 and 2002, while India
has twice taken the bronze medal at the 1990 and 2002 Asian Games.
Indonesia succeeded to add to its Asian Games rowing medal tally to one
silver and three bronzes.
