Bahrain's Tareq Mubarak Salem won his adopted country's first gold medal at the Asian Games with victory in the men's 3,000m steeplechase final in Doha on Friday.
Salem, who was born in Kenya, clocked the fastest time of eight minutes and 26.85 seconds, while Qatari Gamal Belal Salem came second at 8:29.10.
Lin Xiangqian of China had been in the leading position until the two Salems whisked past him during the last lap, and had to settle for the bronze in 8:30.49.
