Teenage shuttler Yip, a champion in the making

Teenage shuttler Yip Pui Yin from Hong Kong of China didn't stop her dreamlike trip in the Doha Asiad after beating world number one Zhang Ning from China in the quarterfinal.
The 19-year-old shuttler romped into her first ever Asian Games final in Doha on Friday.
"Beating Zhang was like a dream and winning the semifinal today was also like a dream," said a high spirited Yip.
The teenager defeated Hwang Hye Yeon from South Korea 21-14, 21- 19 to set up a final clash in the women's singles with her experienced teammate Wang Chen.
While talking about her feelings of entering the final, Yip skipped the comparatively lackluster semifinal, but reiterated her surprisingly triumph over world number one Zhang on Thursday.
"I still think I'm dreaming," said Yip, "My aim was to reach the quarter-finals, since I had never thought that I was able to beat Zhang."
Yip fought a fierce and powerful game to down the Athens Olympic champion 21-19, 21-19. The teenager smashed a lot to force the top seed Zhang into many a mistake.
After claiming the unexpected victory, an excited Yip waved her rackets and shouted with joy.
Yip said, "I asked myself if it was true when I led the second game 15-4. I could not believe that the win was just in front of me.
"Therefore, I did not concentrate on the game, which gifted Zhang several points in row. Luckily, I finally secured win."
Starting the badminton training at the age of six, Yip burst onto the stage in last year's world championships by knocking off Japanese star Kanako Yonekura to advance into the last 16.
At this year's world championships in Madrid, she was ousted by French veteran Pi Hongyan in the round of 16.
"I still need to improve my skills," said Yip, "And I want to learn from those top players during the games."
