23/1/2008 9:51

A team of British detectives will release a report on the assassination of former Pakistani Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto in few days, the interior ministry said yesterday.

Addressing a press conference, Interior Ministry Spokesman Brig Javed Iqbal said that the Scotland Yard team had gone back to London to finalize its report after doing a lot of work in Pakistan.

Cheema said the team would return to Pakistan in the next few days and present the report.

He also disclosed that a 15-year-old boy Aitzaz Shah was arrested from the city of Dera Ismail Khan in connection with Bhutto's death. On his confession another suspect Sher Zaman was arrested and some explosive materials and detonator were recovered, Cheema said.

"They have given a statement with regard to death of Benazir Bhutto but we cannot say anything with certainty unless there is some corroborated evidence," Cheema said, adding that both of the two suspects were handed over to the police in Punjab province for further investigation.

Benazir Bhutto was killed in firing and suicide bombing attacks in the garrison city of Rawalpindi on Dec. 27 after addressing an election rally.
