Unseeded Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga whitewashed second seed Rafael Nadal with an amazing display to advance into the final of the Australian Open yesterday.

The 38th-ranked Tsonga claimed his fourth seeded won the semifinal with 6-2, 6-3, 6-2 in an hour and 57 minutes to reach first Grand Slam final in his career.

Tsonga will either three-time Australian Open champion Roger Federer or Serbian third seed Novak Djokovic in Sunday's final. Federer and Djokovic will have a clash in the other semi-final today.

Tsonga had 17 aces, broke Nadal five times and held every serve game to control the match.

"For me it's a big dream. I don't know what's about that. It's just amazing. I played unbelievable tonight," Tsonga said, adding "I will try to keep this level up for one more match."

In women's single, Serbian Ana Ivanovic set up a final clash with Maria Sharapova of Russia tomorrow.

The 20-year-old Ivanovic lost the first eight games of her semi-final against Daniela Hantuchova but recovered to win 0-6, 6-3, 6-4, while fifth seed Sharapova beat Jelena Jankovic 6-3, 6-1 to reach her second successive final at Melbourne Park.
