The Ukraine congress voted to pass a resolution Saturday afternoon,
announcing that the second round of the fourth Ukraine presidential election is
of no legal effect.
On Saturday, the legislation held a special meeting discussing how to resolve
the current election crisis. Among the attending 429 congressmen, 255 voted for
the resolution.
The congress also passed a non-trust resolution on the Ukraine Central
Election Commission, which oversaw the presidential election and announced the
Ukraine Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovich won the election.
However, the congressmen failed to pass a decision to organize another round
of election.
The resolutions passed by the Ukraine congress have no legal effect.
However, this news cheered up opposition leader supporters who took to the
Independence Square of Kiev. They shouted "Yuchshenko"repeatedly, danced and
sang to celebrate the success.
