Ukrainian current Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovich survived a
no-confidence motion in the national congress on Tuesday as the lawmakers ended
the emergency session without voting on the issue of dismissing Yanukovich's
government,local media reported on Tuesday.
The opposition camp filed the motion to dismiss Yanukovich's government on
Monday, alleging that his government rigged the elections and supports the
separation of eastern Ukrainian regions.
Lawmakers' ignorance of the motion angered the supporters of opposition
leader Viktor Yushchenko, and some of them attempted to rush into the
parliament.
Congress speaker Vladimir Litvin said the debate on the no-confidence motion
was getting too heated and postponed it until Wednesday, according to local
media.
Interfax reported that a top opposition leader said the opposition camp had
broken off the talks with the government over the disputed election polls, and
the blockade of the governmental building was resumed.
The opposition camp also demanded an emergency session of the congress later
Tuesday night, the leader named Oleksander Zinchenko said.
