Opposition supporters in Ukraine continued on Monday to block all entrances to the office building of Ukrainian Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovich, preventing people from entering the compound.

Meters away, police officers were guarding the gate behind the rails.

Last week after the election crisis emerged, the opposition camp had blocked the entrances of the building with cars and othervehicles.

On Sunday, both Ukrainian President Leonid Kuchma and Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovich accused again the opposition camp of blocking the governmental office buildings.

But opposition supporters rejected the accusation.

Around one kilometer away, the streets close to the presidential compound were completely blocked on Monday morning bycrowds of opposition supporters.

Mihayl, a retired engineer from Chernobyl nuclear power plant with a poor pension of 70 US dollars, defended the blocking, saying that the presidential office should not accommodate "bandits."

A group of clergymen marched on Monday morning from the presidential office building to the national congress, blocking the street facing the major gate of the congress and chanting religious anthems.

The Independence Square was still crowded on Monday with supporters for the opposition camp, and they marched along the major streets in downtown streets of Kiev.

A supporter for Yanukovich appeared on Monday on the street near the presidential office. No clash occurred as few opposition supporter cast an eye on her.

As the Ukraine election standoff dragged on into the eighth day, there was no sign that protests would subside. The Ukraine SupremeCourt is to make a ruling on the stalemate on Monday.
