Jihad slams Abbas's statements of ending militarizing intifada
29/12/2004 21:39

The radical Islamic Jihad movement (Holy War) condemned on Wednesday the statements of head of Palestine Liberation Organization's executive committee Mahmoud Abbas that called for ending militarizing the intifada (uprising).

A Jihad official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said that the movement condemned Abbas statements that claimed that the militarizing the intifada caused harm to the Palestinians' interests, saying Abbas' statements satisfied Israel.

The Palestinian intifada broke out in September 2000 and thousands of Palestinians and Israelis were killed during the four year conflicts.

"The intifada was and still considered the people's choice and is not a choice to defend some parties' interests," he said adding that the resistance will continue till forcing out the Jewish occupation.

The source also said that Abbas has to stand before the occupation's attacks against the Palestinians "and let him stop it if he could instead of launching statements that threat the unity of the people."

He added that the movement hopes Abbas statements would not be an entrance to a new stage that would be worse than Oslo agreements that harmed the Palestinians.
