15 Turks in Palestine to monitor presidential elections

Fifteen Turks arrived in Palestine on Thursday to monitor the presidential
elections to be held on Sunday, Turkish Foreign Ministry said in Ankara. The
ministry said that the Turkish observers would monitor the preparations for the
elections, and the vote casting and vote counting on the day of the elections,
adding "Turkey considers the elections as an important stage for revival of the
road map and Middle East peace process." Turkey would fulfil its
responsibilities for the elections and hope that the elections would be held in
a tranquil atmosphere, and that it would bring lasting peace and tranquility to
the Palestinian people, the ministry said.
