Argentina signed agreements with seven countries on reducing green-house gas
emissions during a United Nations climate conference in Buenos Aires, Argentine
authorities said Saturday.
The Argentine delegation signed the agreements Friday with representatives
from Spain, Austria, Canada, France, Netherlands, Italy and Denmark.
The documents were signed under the Mechanism for Clean Development within
the framework of the Kyoto Protocol, which will become effective in February
2005 and expire in 2012.
The 10th United Nations Conference on Climate Change, held on December 6-18
in Buenos Aires, drew 2,200 participants from 178 countries.
