The room where Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles will be married next
month has been officially unveiled in the United Kingdom.
The Ascot Room in the 17th century Guildhall next to Windsor Castle measures
just five metres by seven. Judy Wade, a Royal Commentator insists that the room
isn't as cramped as reports suggested.
"The press led us to believe it was a dingy with stained carpets. There are a
few very tiny stains but nowhere near where the royal couple will sit. So all in
all, it's quite a nice room to be married in."
Images published last week showed the shabby surrounds that appeared in
desperate need of a clean.
However on Monday, the room was cleaned and tidied with white floral displays
in place.
Meanwhile Charles and Camilla wedding souvenirs have gone on sale in Windsor,
just a few metres from the Guildhall.
Items on display include wedding tea towels, shopping bags and coffee mugs,
all bearing a smiling portrait of the Prince of Wales and the future Duchess of
Cornwall.
