The Mozambican government on Thursday strongly condemned the terrorist
outrages in London, which killed over 30 and injured hundreds. Foreign
Minister Alcinda Abreu met with British High Commissioner Howard Parkinson in
Maputo on Thursday afternoon to express the position of the Mozambican
government. She expressed the Mozambican government and people's solidarity
and condolences with the British government and people. Abreu pledged
Mozambique's willingness to cooperate in the international efforts against
terrorism. As leaders of the G8 group of the most industrialized nations sat
down on Thursday morning in Gleneagles, Scotland to discuss global warming and
poverty in Africa, a series of explosions hit the transport network of Britain's
capital, London. So far 37 deaths were confirmed in the three blasts on
London's underground rail network and on a bus. Hundreds of people suffered
injuries, and at least 45 of them are said to be in a serious condition.
