Despite the terrorist attacks on London, the British Grand Prix will be held
on Sunday as planned after assessing security, organisers said on
Thursday. Silverstone chiefs are confident they will not need any extra
security for Sunday's 100,000 sell-out. "Following the events that took place
in London, Silverstone would like to reassure all visitors that the security of
both spectators and participants is of paramount importance," said a race
organiser. "Silverstone has a well-established set of security measures in
place that have been agreed and planned in detail with police and other
agencies. "Silverstone is confident that these measures are adequate to
ensure the safety of all attending," he added.
